What is a
registered agent?

A registered agent is a person or company that a business appoints to receive legal papers on its behalf. Corporations and LLCs list their registered agent with the state, along with an address where papers can be delivered.

Many businesses use professional registered agent companies, such as CT Corporation. Many of these companies keep Manhattan offices with intake staff whose job is to accept legal papers during business hours and forward them to the business. Our servers deliver to those intake desks regularly.
